What is Taxi to Table?

Taxi to Table helps general aviation pilots find airport restaurants, day trips, camping and lodging. Each destination brings together the published information we have, its sources and the details still needing confirmation. Start with your departure airport and a maximum direct distance.

What is a $100 hamburger?

A “$100 hamburger” is a pilot’s expression for flying somewhere to enjoy a meal and the trip itself. It is not a quoted menu price or a promise about the cost of flying. Browse airport restaurants and fly-in dining to plan your next stop.

Which restaurants appear in airport dining results?

Regular airport dining includes on-airport restaurants, off-airport restaurants with a confirmed walking route of ¾ mile or less, and clearly labelled candidates whose access remains unconfirmed. Known longer walks and restaurants included only in a day-trip itinerary are kept out of regular airport dining results. An airport association alone does not establish a safe walking route.

What do on airport and off airport mean?

“On airport” describes the restaurant’s location on airport property. “Off airport” means it is outside the airport. Neither label guarantees ramp access, parking or an unobstructed walk. Check the access notes and contact the FBO or airport before leaving the airplane.

Are search distances nautical miles or road miles?

The departure-airport search uses nautical miles (NM), measured directly between airport coordinates. It is not a flight route, driving distance or flight-time estimate. Our restaurant walking limit is ¾ of a statute mile along a confirmed pedestrian route.

Why can I see airports with no restaurant listed?

Our FAA airport directory is broader than our destination research. A missing listing means we have not published a destination there; it does not establish that dining, camping or lodging is unavailable. See research progress or suggest a place.

How do I find the FBO name and phone number?

Open a destination’s trip page and look for Airport & FBO contacts. We show published contacts and their sources when available. If an FBO contact is unconfirmed, we say so; an airport-operator phone number is labelled separately.

Can I rely on a courtesy car being available?

Availability, charges, permitted duration and eligibility vary. Ask the FBO about your date, group size and return time, and arrange a backup. A published courtesy-car reference is not a reservation or a guarantee of transportation.

Are restaurant hours and prices current?

“Website checked” reports when a source was reviewed; it does not mean the restaurant was called or visited. Call to confirm hours for your date. Menu-based price ranges estimate a typical main dish before drinks, tax and tip: $ under $15; $$ $15–$30; $$$ over $30–$60; $$$$ over $60. Unknown prices remain unconfirmed.

What does a day-trip plan include?

Our day-out itineraries include an arrival airport, attractions, local restaurant choices, contacts, a suggested sequence and a return-transport reminder. Time on the ground is a planning suggestion. Confirm bookings, ground travel and opening hours for your date.

Can I camp beside my airplane?

Only where the airport or operator permits it and arrangements are confirmed for your dates. We distinguish on-airport camping from nearby off-airport camping. Event access, season, reservations, facilities and fees vary. Start with the airport camping guide and contact the operator.

How do I plan a fly-in overnight stay?

Use the lodging guide to review published options. Confirm the room or campsite, ground transportation in both directions, aircraft parking, fees and after-hours gate access. Taxi to Table does not display live vacancies or make bookings.

Can I use this site for flight planning or aircraft suitability?

Use Taxi to Table for the ground visit. Check current aviation sources for weather, NOTAMs, airspace, airport restrictions, runway conditions and aircraft performance. Destination listings and badges do not establish that a flight is suitable for your aircraft, qualifications or conditions.

How do Passport check-ins work?

After visiting a destination, choose Check in, select the place and enter your visit date. Visits are self-reported. Taxi to Table does not verify GPS arrivals or flight tracks. The Passport is a travel collection and visit journal, not a pilot flight logbook.

How do I earn First Bite and the $100 Hamburger Club badge?

First Bite is earned after a check-in at one restaurant with a visit date. The $100 Hamburger Club requires check-ins at five distinct restaurants. Repeat visits to one restaurant count once toward that badge. See all Passport badge rules.

How do the day-trip badges work?

Record a Day out visit to the specific itinerary to earn its destination badge. Saving a plan or checking in only at a restaurant does not earn the day-trip badge. Optional attractions are not required. Each itinerary explains its badge.

Will my Passport follow me across devices?

When signed in, your visits, saved destinations, memories and checklists save automatically to your private account. Sign in with the same account on another device to see them. Guest activity stays in that browser. My Account contains backup and recovery tools; an option to add previous browser history appears there only when needed, with duplicate protection.

Who can see my Passport memories?

Your signed-in Passport visits, notes, memories and checklists are private account content. Community reviews and exterior photos are separate contributions that appear publicly only after moderation. You choose whether to export or share an achievement.

How do I suggest a restaurant or correct a listing?

Use Add a place or report a change. Include the destination name, airport identifier and what changed. A dated official source, phone confirmation or firsthand observation helps the review. Contributions go into a moderation queue before publication.

How do I earn First Look?

Use Add exterior photo on a restaurant card and submit a photo you own or have permission to share. The first approved community exterior photo for that restaurant earns First Look. Uploading a photo alone does not guarantee approval or the badge; an earlier approved contribution may already qualify.

How are reviews and research different?

Research records source-backed details such as access and published hours. Pilot reviews describe contributors’ visits and appear after moderation. Where connected, Google reviews are separately attributed to Google Maps. Reviews do not establish current hours, airport permission or transport availability.

Which sources does Taxi to Table use?

We use FAA airport records, official restaurant and airport/operator websites, AOPA references and community leads. Evidence and dates appear with the destination; unresolved details remain visible. Read how we research destinations for the distinctions.
